$1,000 For You + $1,000 For Him GIVEAWAY!

1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. Chances are you might know and love someone who has had or will get a prostate cancer diagnosis. Prostate cancer is the SECOND leading cause of cancer death among men. I had no idea.

So, why are we talking to you, the “prostateless”, about this cancer?

If you’re anything like me, you’re the one making everyone’s doctors appointments, doing the late night WebMD Google searches, taking care of your kids, your husband and even harassing your parents about their health. True confession? I had to BET my dad $500 that he needed knee replacements. I’m the only one who got him to the doctor. But I lost . . . he actually needed BOTH of his HIPS replaced! But a good daughter puts it all on the line right? (We called the bet a draw btw . . .)

Turns out the “best long-term care insurance in our country is a conscientious daughter” proved by a recent healthcare study by a bunch of Stanford University Fellows (more here). You’re welcome dad!

So What If I Know Someone Who Gets Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer?

Here’s the cool thing. The Prolaris Test is a prostate cancer test that provides a new measure of the aggressiveness of an individual’s prostate cancer. Getting a “Prolaris Score” will give both the patient and the physician additional information about the cancer that no other test can. That impacts the kind of treatment that person you love will get as well as the side effects and outcomes. It’s such valuable information to have.  So if you know someone with a recent diagnosis point them to Prolaris.com. They can ask their doctor about it and odds are their insurance covers it.

$1,000 For You + $1,000 For Him

Mom, you have so many titles, perhaps the most important of which is CMO. Chief Medical Officer of your household. But sometimes it takes a bribe. So we’re bribing BOTH OF YOU. You and the man in your life—we’ve got a $2,000 Grand Prize up for grabs. $1000 for you, and $1000 for that man that you keep having to remind to be mindful of his health.

not really a worrier takes things as they come, I am not one to go on the internet to see what health wise is wrong that is what my Dr is for

We’re both the worriers but Web MD doesn’t help much and our Doctor always sluffs off any concerns, even irregular blood tests. Even told hubby not to get prostate blood test at all! He had to insist!
